Jumping In

Cinda-rella dressed in yell-ah went upstairs to kiss a fell-ah!” Do you remember that childhood jumprope chant? Two girls, one at each end of a long, whippy jumprope, lofting it round and round and waiting for you to time it juuuuuusssst right–jump–now! That was always the scary part. You didn’t want to catch your foot or get whacked in the back of the head with the rope. Ah, but once you were in, then you could shine! Jump down, touch the ground. Jump up and turn around. So many variations. That’s kind of where I’ve been with this blog idea–standing “outside the rope” gauging when to jump in. Starting something new, especially anything techy, as I’m a major techophobe, gives me great hesitation. I really thought I’d have to call in the professionals (like one of my kids!) to get me started. And I’ve had great doubts about who would read my blog. But, really, I’ve come to the conclusion that that’s not what it’s all about for me. Putting words on a page is like releasing a pressure valve in my brain. It would be like a cook crafting a great meal or an artist creating her own visions on canvas. Arranging words into sentences into paragraphs of purpose is simply a creative process for me. It’s something I NEED to do. I know, I’m weird. I’m making no attempt at anything great here. But I do hope to share interesting insight into the “rocks” God has put in my shoes. Some “rocks” you can deal with for quite a while, while others you have to stop and take care of right away. Maybe I’ll tell a few tales on myself or my kiddos. Perhaps post some pics of my junk finds and what I hope to do with them. Who knows. For right now, I’m just jumping in.
